US students receive less than 8 hours of required nutrition education each school year,9 far below the 40 to 50 hours that are needed to affect behavior change. We recognize that improving community health for future generations starts with our children.
FOREVER FIT KIDS
Forever Fit Kids is a school based program designed to engage adolescents in nutritional education, physical activity and positive self-awareness. The program includes three tiers: nutrition, physical activity, which is focused more around play than exercise and behavioral intervention. Instructors will lead students through fun activities and interactive demonstrations that are centered around healthy living and better lifestyle choices.

Adolescent girls tend to have lower levels of iron than adolescent boys, so they need to eat more foods rich in iron that are easily absorbed by the body.

- When the brain activates following exercise, it can better concentrate and helps improve memory and information retention.
- Students who participate in regular physical activity are less likely to get sick and be absent.
- Students that develop a routine for physical activity when they are younger lower their risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and other life-altering diseases and conditions.
- Activity helps release endorphins, feel-good hormones, that help reduce stress therefore relieving feelings of anxiety and depression.
- Participating in activities that include working with others on a team or a group help students develop positive social and problem-solving skills.
